At H.O.M.E. our mission is to advocate, educate, empower, and raise the level of HIV/AIDS awareness to the general public in order to prevent and modify risk behaviors associated with HIV/AIDS transmission. We are a dedicated resource for early detection and intervention comprised of effective outreach initiatives aimed to sustain and promote good health and eradicate associated stigmas relating to HIV infection. H.O.M.E. and its “Focus on Youth” strategy is also committed in establishing a safe haven retreat, grant holiday wishes, and create memorable experiences for youth living with HIV beyond treatment.

Our Goals

Our initial goal is to first sustain our existence and operations until we are able to find appropriate funding to support our mission. Since H.O.M.E. does not currently receive funding from any federal, state, or local agency, we have to rely on the generosity of concerned individuals and businesses, just like yourself and others from around the nation.

Our Vision

H.O.M.E. shares its vision of securing a dreamed of camp in the Northern Virginia or West Virginia areas, which will serve as the future location of H.O.M.E.’s safe-haven retreat for kids infected with HIV. Our vision is to serve and uniquely house both children and caretakers with a much deserved vacation. We are seeking a generous donation of a 5+ acre parcel of land from a land owner. We will remain steadfast, devoted, patient, optimistic with a calm consistency that our dream will become reality some day.

By providing a retreat, a place for our children and their families to call H.O.M.E., they will be able to get away from and temporarily forget the endless rounds of medical appointments, tests, and all too often constant reminders of their illnesses. Between financial pressures and demands of caring for an ill loved one, it is extremely difficult for these families to take a much needed break away from their daily challenges and obstacles.

H.O.M.E. is determined to assist by providing these families a place for a retreat/camp experience they’ll remember forever. The children and family members will be provided the opportunity to participate in activities that will include field trips to the many wonderful, historical, and exciting attractions in the region, but we cannot do this without the generosity of donors such as yourselves. We are seeking to capture the attention of ABC’s Extreme Makeover HOME Edition for their assistance and miracle in making our dream possible.
